GitHub Field Day is a community event for networking and collaboration in the tech community. We want everyone to have a great and fulfilling experience, so we expect all attendees to be respectful and courteous to each other during all events held in the GitHub space. To make sure everyone knows what’s expected, we require all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers, and volunteers at any event in the GitHub space to follow this Code of Conduct. The organizers will make sure everyone follows this code throughout the event.
GitHub is committed to ensuring that everyone has a positive and respectful experience at our events. We do not allow any form of harassment or behavior that could make another participant feel unsafe, insecure, or scared for their physical or emotional well-being. This applies to individuals of all genders, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, disabilities, physical appearances, body sizes, races, and religions.
It is important to use professional and respectful communication when addressing a diverse audience in any GitHub-related presentation. Use of sexual language or imagery is not appropriate in any GitHub-related presentation or event.
Treat others with kindness and respect. Do not belittle or insult fellow attendees. It is expected that all attendees will behave professionally at all times. Remember that harassment and inappropriate jokes, including those that are sexist, racist, or exclusionary, are not acceptable at this event.
Each event guest is entirely responsible for their own actions.
Attendees violating these rules will be asked to leave the event at the sole discretion of the event managers.
Thank you for helping to make this a welcoming, friendly space for all.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the organizers at field-day-lk-general@googlegroups.com or education@github.com, another GitHub employee or a security officer.
GitHubbers will be happy to help participants contact security or local law enforcement, escort to safety, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
